Hi! My name is Waliyah, I'm an aspiring singer-songwriter but I'm also passionate about all forms of creativity and self expression so I also dabble in dance, semi-professional writing for the screen and magazines and acting.

Hope you're all enjoying 2010. To me, the start of a new decade signals a sense of urgency, a need to exert some control over the transience of time. To reflect on but to let go of the past, to make the most of the present and take ownership of our futures. To persevere even though things may not be always be easy for anyone, definitely gone through a lot of rough times and a little personal adversity. With all the madness going on around us, things have gotten too complicated perhaps to our detriment, whether environmentally, technologically, socio-culturally or economically. I feel the need to take stock of what's really important, to search for substance and depth, to find your own voice amidst the deafening chorus, to return to what's simple, real and positive, our authentic selves.

This site is a representation of that, after languishing as just a thought in the back of my head for 6 years, it's finally here!
