Hi! My name is Waliyah, I'm a singer-songwriter but I'm also passionate about all forms of creativity and self expression so I also dabble in dance, semi-professional writing for the screen and magazines and acting.
After your wonderful support you showed for "Hidden Agenda" and the "Audible emotion" project.

To reflect on but to let go of the past, to make the most of the present and take ownership of our futures. To persevere even though things may not be always be easy for anyone, definitely gone through a lot of rough times and a little personal adversity. With all the madness going on around us, things have gotten too complicated perhaps to our detriment, whether environmentally, technologically, socio-culturally or economically. I feel the need to take stock of what's really important, to search for substance and depth, to find your own voice amidst the deafening chorus, to return to what's simple, real and positive, our authentic selves.
This site is a representation of that, after languishing as just a thought in the back of my head for 6 years, it's finally here!

An evening of great entertainment - music, fashion, comedy and dinner in support of the "Educate an African Child" Movement. Waliyah will be performing a long set with her band, amidst a line up creative artists all in aid of a great cause.

- May - back in London. Great music events, songwriting critiques and masterclasses - David Gray, Eg White. learning so much. The Ivor novello awards were great, met so many people whose music i love!
- April - new record done. off to NY, LA and Dubai. some business, some pleasure. Met a ton of my music heroes. Super chuffed!
- December - in the studio recording with the fabulous David Brant.
- October - Cover versions for youtube , v good fun!
After months of recording, the album has arrived! CDs are currently in pre-release circulation
